Before achieving widespread success, most rappers are forced to endure a series of hardships. But few have gone through the same kind of trials and tribulations that Gucci Mane has. Despite the pitfalls, Gucci Mane takes each moment in stride, both playfully and insightful.

After building up a solid buzz in the South in the early 2000s thanks to the overwhelming success of his infectious 2003 club anthem, “Icy,” featuring fellow up-and-coming Southern rapper Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane caught an attempted murder charge during a much-publicized beef with Jeezy and had to serve a year in prison. Upon his return, he released his debut album, Trap House, his stellar sophomore project, Hard To Kill, and his 2007 major label debut, Back To The Trap House, before eventually being forced to serve another year-long prison sentence for a probation violation stemming from a 2005 incident.

But Gucci Mane wouldn’t let a second major legal battle stop his movement. Instead, he jumped into the studio for days at a time before his sentence started and recorded dozens of songs that he eventually released through his So Icey Entertainment and 1017 Brick Squad Records imprints while he was incarcerated to help keep his name alive in the streets. It worked, and by the time Gucci Mane was released in March 2009, his buzz was better than ever and he immediately started recording songs for what would become his second major label album, The State Vs. Radric Davis.

By late 2009, the album was finished. Featuring the smash singles, “Wasted,” and “Spotlight,” featuring Usher, The State Vs. Radric Davis was shaping up to be the biggest release of Gucci Mane’s career. While he had already enjoyed plenty of success in the South and routinely made thousands of dollars for performing at shows every night, the album was projected to move him into the upper echelon of rap. He looked like he was primed to end the year on a positive note. Unfortunately, he had one more hurdle to clear—and it was a big one.

In November 2009, just a few weeks before the album hit stores, Gucci Mane found himself getting thrown behind bars again for breaking the terms of his probation. It was devastating for his fans, his followers and, most importantly, himself. “Unfortunately, my incarceration also came at a pivotal point in my career, just as my first major label album was dropping,” Gucci Mane admitted later. “I was forced to miss what should have been one of the proudest moments of my life.”

He didn’t let those moments go to waste, though. While in prison serving a one-year sentence, Gucci Mane wrote rhymes constantly, stayed in touch with his Brick Squad affiliates Waka Flocka Flame and DJ Holiday and set the stage for his return by releasing an official mixtape, The Burrrprint 2 HD, in March, which moved more than 15,000 units in its’ first week in stores. All of this prepared Gucci Mane to get back on his grind when he released from prison in May.

Karim Kharbouch, better known by his stage name French Montana, is an American rapper, entrepreneur, former videographer, and hip hop socialite. Born in Morocco, his family emigrated to the US when he was 13 years old. In 2012, he signed a joint-venture recording deal with Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music Group. More recently, he is known for his collaborations with Rick Ross, Diddy and his MMG and Bad Boy labelmates.

Floyd Money Mayweather Drops Stacks at E11EVEN

They don’t call him “Money Mayweather” for nothing.

Floyd Mayweather lived up to his nickname by throwing $5,000 into the air at Miami hot spot E11EVEN, and then threw down even more dough on bottle service for his VIP crew Wednesday morning, an insider told Page Six.

We’re told the boxing champ, 41, arrived at the club around 3 a.m. in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter dressed in a Nike hoodie, matching shorts and his headline-making $18 million Jacob and Co. watch.

Accompanied by a large crew of about 20 people, Mayweather was ushered in through the VIP door and seated at a secluded table in the club’s party pit.

“Within minutes of walking in, Mayweather started flooding the club floor with bills,” our insider said. “Clubgoers were going nuts realizing who it was after it happened.”

While the former fighter is known for not drinking alcohol, our source says “He didn’t mind spending his funds bottle service at e11even for his friends,” and ordered multiple bottles of Grey Goose, Don Julio 1942, Moët Nectar Rose and Hennessy to his table.

After settling in with pals, Mayweather made money rain down on clubgoers once again.

According to our source, with the money he tossed carelessly into the air, plus his $6,000 bottle service bill, Mayweather shelled out $11,000 for an epically expensive night out on the town.

Also at the club was former FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, who arrived just after Mayweather made his exit at about 6 a.m.

Best EDM Clubs in London

When you think of London, several images come to mind. One one end, you picture royalty, class and maybe Manchester United. On the other end, you picture live music, Dr Martens walking down city streets, random musicians banging on tin drums in warehouses. THIS is the London that is magnetic to EDM fans.

Electronic music is nothing new in the UK. They’ve even been responsible for several subgenres in the scene, which is assurance that the nightlife caters to that. Many of the staple clubs in London’s dance music scene sprung up in the 1990s when electronic music was really beginning (or continuing) to boom. Whether you are a UK local, on a group backpacking trip from the States, studying abroad, or on a self-exploring trip, chances are to get the full experience you will want to hit up a club in London.

Fabric

It’s a guarantee that the music will be well-picked if the club brand is also a record label. That is the case for Fabric, Farringdon’s premium nightlife choice. The music sits between techno, dubstep, house and drum and bass- think Claude Vonstroke, Skrillex and Midland. Three rooms across 25,000 square feet means no loss of space to get your groove on.

However, particularly for those who go to clubs to be fully engulfed in the sound, there is Room One. Famous for it’s floors attached to bass transducers, Room One gives new meaning to feeling the bass by literally pumping low bass frequencies through your feet to fill your entire dancing body with the music.

See upcoming events, and book tables for Fabric on the Discotech app.

Ministry of Sound

Ministry of Sound is a tribute to the importance of audio in nightlife, an idea that is often forgotten in the modern age of “trendy clubs.” This Southwark club is a veteran in London’s entertainment scene, opening in 1991 by an owner that set out to put music first, lights second, and atmosphere third- a refreshing break from many clubs’ priorities today.

In 2016, Ministry of Sound had Dolby Laboratories install Dolby Atmos, their 64-speaker, 22-channel sound system that gives a new name to good sound. The system fills the club’s main room, most crowded on their Saturday night “club nights” which host acts from Marshmello to Zeds Dead. Friday nights are a favorite for Trance lovers eager to hear artists like Markus Shultz.

You can download the Discotech app to see upcoming events, and book tables for Ministry of Sound.

XOYO

This moody-chic Shoreditch classic, delivering musical variety London residents and vacayers enjoy, has 2 floors, resident DJs and all that good stuff. The lights and ambiance of XOYO are slightly reminiscent of a 70s club. This all goes flawlessly with their signature “XOYO Loves,” night during which they play more melodic tracks across the EDM board, but especially residing in the disco genre.

You can find XOYO’s floor plan and book bottle service on the Discotech app.

Egg London

Funny name, serious party. Egg London is open until 6 am, so instead of waking up in the wee morning hours hungover, you will still be enjoying the party. Egg is a trailblazer among clubs by offering “memberships” that guarantee discounted and fast track entry among several other benefits.

Even better than that is their “student membership,” a GENIUS option for collegiates who want to stay ahead of the curve and in the know when it comes to nightclubs among their peers. So while America’s college students are pounding Natty Lights at a dive bar, London’s are waltzing into upscale nightclubs with their +2 in stilettos and silk.

Three dance floors and a spread out outdoor terrace make the layout. As for the music, house and techno are the main flavors. Come on Fridays for the new DJ names ready to make their big break. Saturdays are more seasoned- bringing in international DJs and all their glorious consistency.

Sign up for the free Egg London guestlist or book a table for bottle service on Discotech app.

Corsica Studios

For a more low-maintenance yet mega-urban feel there is Corsica Studios. Between the relaxed dress code, reasonable drink prices, and brick walls allowing for even more dynamic sound, Corsica makes way for EDM fans who aren’t into other distractions.

The intimate southeast London club often brings in talent that isn’t fully on the mainstream radar yet. The genres go across the board- techno, house, electro, disco, and even hints of dubstep and drum and bass.

Find upcoming events and tickets at Corsica on the Discotech app.

Planning an Epic Bachelor / Stag Party in Las Vegas

Marriage isn’t for the faint of heart, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile. Sin City is most definitely not for the faint of heart, but it too is worth the adventure. Great- a match made in heaven! Who cares if Vegas is the cliche Bachelor / Stag Party destination. It has earned that title for a reason. It’s time to send your best bud off to his next adventure into an unknown world of commitment and love. But first- it’s time to celebrate.. on a major scale.

The thing about Vegas you should acknowledge before planning the wildest weekend of your life is that it is impossible to be disappointed if you go in knowing what to expect. Expect to spend the equivalent to one month of rent (or more). Expect to leave feeling like every ounce of energy has been drained from your sorry, hungover soul. Expect hoping that this weekend’s escapades will never be brought up in front of anyone respectful. And of course, expect one helluva time.

Now let’s get to the details.

Bachelor Party Pre-planning

A solid group of 6-8 people is perfect. That way, everyone can book rooms in pairs on their own. Also, this is a good size group to split bottle service tables with because too little people would be WAY more expensive. Pick a region of the strip and make sure everyone coordinates to stay in a hotel in that area- if not in the same hotel. It’s best if everyone books rooms in the same hotel, for obvious reasons.

Try to plan for the bachelor weekend to be during a hot, eventful time that is not a holiday. Create a group text to figure all the details out and have the most well-connected friends reach out to Las Vegas promoters to lock down prices for tables weeks before. Or, to make the process easier, go on the Discotech app and search bottle service. The group text will also become a forum for discussing the debauchery all the guys are looking forward to!

As the weekend approaches, it’s time to start hitting the gym. No shame in working on a tan too! Remember, this is Vegas!

The Game Plan

We’ve created a guide game plan that seems like the perfect way to spend the weekend giving your pal a farewell to the single, wild, and free life.

Friday

  • Late afternoon: Arrive and check in to the hotel, grab a few drinks and get situated
  • Night: Group dinner at a nice steakhouse
  • Late night: Walk the strip and bar hop or hangout in the hotel bar. Hit up the casino if you have self-control. Remember you need that money the fund the next two days! This is the “calm before the storm” night.

Saturday

Photo courtesy of Daylight Beach Club

  • Daytime: POOL PARTY!! Book a cabana or daybed for bottle service at a poppin’ pool party. Find the hottest event that weekend and go see a favorite DJ. For a Saturday day party, Wet Republic or Encore Beach Club are ALWAYS a good idea. Between the killer lineups and badass surroundings, these pools are a go-to for parties all Summer long. If you’re looking for a hip hop spot, we recommend Daylight or Rehab
  • If you’re not up for the day drinking, there are a plethora of other bachelor friendly activities in Vegas.
    • Fly a fighter Jet – If you’ve ever harbored a Top Gun fantasy, well, grab your aviators, Maverick. Sky Combat Ace is the closest most of us will ever come to feeling the rush of a fighter pilot dancing through the skies. Book the Top Gun package, then get behind the controls and, with the aid of an instructor, undertake aerobatic maneuvers like torque rolls, tail spins and the hammerhead stall (that’s the one where the plane points up, stalls and drops backwards toward the earth). But don’t stop there: Sky Combat also offers air combat experiences, where you can ride along or pilot during simulated aerial dogfights and low level bombing runs.
    • Catch some Hockey – After years of aspiring to major league status, Las Vegas has finally joined the club this year with NHL expansion team Vegas Golden Knights. For those who clucked over how a hockey squad would draw with all the other entertainment options in close proximity, the answer is now apparent: really damn well. Seeing a Golden Knights game at the T-Mobile Arena isn’t just another hour of skating and sticking. It’s hockey a la Las Vegas, complete with celebs on the Jumbotron, “Viva Las Vegas” and a little extra glitz thrown in the mix. And when the puck stops spinning, you’re still on the Strip. Which might make a Golden Knights match the best pregame in town.
    • Catch a Show – Cirque du Soleil’s enchanting spectacles have long been the dominant entertainment force on the Strip, but they’ve helped give birth to something a bit more… naughty. Absinthe is one part circus, one part pelvic-thrusting comedy show, performed inside an intimate spiegeltent, where the acrobats are often teetering above your head. The ring-leader Gazillionaire’s explicit jokes set the tone, but the performers steal the show with killer dance moves, high-wire daring and other acts that are equal parts astounding, arousing and just plain strange. You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, you’ll uncontrollably blush. This ain’t your mama’s Vegas show.
    • Race some Exotic Cars – At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, home of several NASCAR races each year, you can spend the day behind the wheel of vehicles straight out of a Hollywood action flick: Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens and Porsches, all gassed up and ready to go. Book a session with Dream Racing, who will put you in a simulator before you saddle up and buckle your safety belt. Then hit the track and hold on tight. With an instructor riding shotgun, you’ll satisfy your adrenaline addiction but never feel out of control.
    • Throw an Axe – Channel your inner lumberjack or Viking at Axe Monkeys, a new range dedicated to the old-school art of chucking low-tech weapons at wood. Reserve a lane or two, absorb a quick safety briefing, than grab an axe, step to the line and throw. Not only is pitching an axe a pretty good rush, but the learning curve is steep, so you’ll be nailing your attempts in no time. When you’re ready to take it to the next level, upgrade to ninja stars, throwing knives or even metal player cards. You’re just one martini and a good suit away from 007 status.
    • Shoot some guns – Sure, you crush at Call of Duty, but have you ever actually held a sniper rifle in your hand and pulled the trigger? You can at Battlefield Vegas, where they have AR-15s, AK-47s and Glock 17s available for your target practice pleasure. Book packages inspired by video games, Platoon or even World War II, and you’ll learn how to safely operate a wide variety of weaponry. Free Humvee pickups are available and, for a cool $2,500, you can even crush a car in an Abrams tank. Only in Las Vegas.
    • Play with Construction Equipment – Push, pull and rip your way to excitement on D5G Bulldozers and Excavators with DigThis Vegas. After a safety orientation and warm up, you take the controls while your Dig This instructor guides you through a series of three exercises including Building huge mounds, Pushing gigantic tires and finally Teeter-Tottering over a mega mound!
  • Nighttime: After the pool party, try to crash out for a bit. Squeezing in a one hour nap WILL save you. An insane Saturday afternoon MUST be followed by an epic Saturday night. Head to Omnia or Hakkasan and have a table booked by the stage. Revel in the bass and take in the perfectly overwhelming atmosphere until the wee hours of the morning.

  • Late night / After Hours: There’s something to be said about those that can make it to this time. If that includes your entire group- you guys are some party veterans! From the hours of 4-8 am, a strip club is definitely on the agenda. Head to Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club for 24/7 raunchy fun- the perfect way to close out the insanity of Saturday’s happenings. If you’re looking to continue dancing, we recommend Drais After Hours

Sunday

  • Late morning: When you begin to roll out of bed, or (let’s face it you haven’t slept) start noticing the hangover is creeping in- do not let it! It’s time to kill two birds with one stone. Nothing is more notorious for accomplishing that than… BRUNCH! Vegas brunch buffets combine the best of both worlds- upscale, flavorful dining and the theme of “overdoing it” that Vegas knows all too well. Have a couple mimosas and indulge in the exquisite array of all sorts of breakfast/ lunch items. You will feel ready to take on the world in no time!

  • Afternoon: This is the only intermission from partying for the weekend- but it will not be a break from adrenaline at all. The Las Vegas area has several daytime adventures and excursions visitors often forget about. We think the best way to get the blood flowing and the excitement building is to take the team to the desert for some ATV riding!
  • Night: Okay, okay- the anticipation is killing you. How are you going to close out the last night of this legendary send-off to your no longer single friend?! XS Night Swim! Magical is an understatement. Everything about this Summer-long Sunday event is flawless, from the top tier DJ acts to the top notch cocktail servers.

Monday

  • You made it! Drink water and share pictures in your group text. TIme for a much needed recovery day at home before you are all back to work. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Best Bottle Service Deals In Las Vegas

Let’s face it, bottle service at a table in Las Vegas is probably the WORST place to be when you and the homies are on a tight budget, am i right or amirite?

Or… is it???

The Las Vegas that most out-of-town visitors know is the one of sheer opulence, fast money, gluttonous excess, glitzy sensory overload, and high-stakes swings in fortune.  Of course, the locals and insiders are happy to indulge all those “Sin City” stereotypes, because that’s the version many tourists pay handsomely to witness – hey, there’s no business like show business!!!  And Las Vegans (hilarious, but yes that’s what they’re called) play the fiddle in tune because “a fool and his money are soon parted” as the old saying goes.   Hey, there’s a reason why there’s no state income tax in Las Vegas: millions of visitors a year foot those locals’ tax bills via hotel taxes, entertainment taxes, sales taxes, and all other taxes on general debauchery (and stupidity).

Ah, Vegas. Not for the faint of heart… or light of wallet.

However, Vegas is also the home of the $2.99 steak-and-eggs breakfasts, $1 happy hour draft beers, penny slot machines, $2 blackjack tables, comped open bars, and free hotel rooms…. if you just know WHERE to look and WHO to ask.  Likewise, there are quite a few fabulous table service deals to be had even smack-dab in the middle of the uber-expensive tourist trap that is the Las Vegas Strip, for those people in the know.  When it comes to nightlife, Discotech – born and raised in Vegas and heading into its fifth year as a Sin City resident – is that Vegas expert and local guide for you, and we’ve got deal-finding down to a science. Looking to ball on a budget? These are the top bottle service deals available in Sin City!

Without further adieu, here’s our list of the best Las Vegas bottle service deals: (Note: all prices below are before tax/tip/venue fees, which run from 33-38% on top of your final table spend, depending on venue)

Chateau @ Paris

On price alone, there is no better bottle service deal for a nightclub on the Vegas Strip than at Chateau, hands-down.  This centrally located venue will indeed impress you with its spectacular rooftop view of the Las Vegas Boulevard lights from underneath the hotel’s Eiffel Tower replica, but it will truly wow you with a $400 table special offer that gives you a bottle of Belvedere, a bottle of premium champagne, unlimited mixers for your vodka, and up to 4 VIP entries (no wait + line skip, no cover, hosted expedited walk-in to table).  They also have similar specials for larger groups, and even if vodka isn’t your weapon of choice they still have uber-affordable bottle pricing for a la carte orders. Visit our webapp to book bottle service at chateau!

Light @ Mandalay Bay

The original Light Nightclub opened at Bellagio in 2001, and in 2013 the venue relocated and relaunched further down the Strip at Mandalay, replacing the raucous but aging Rumjungle.  Perhaps that pride in being one of the longest-standing Vegas nightclub names in the game is why Light offers what amounts to a “locals discount” with its reasonable pricing.  If you’re a hip-hop aficionado plus a vodka drinker with no discerning preference, then Light is the place to be: you can score a 2-bottle 1L special of a premium “Brand of the Week” (the vodka rotates weekly based on the sponsoring brand) for $1000 (15-20% off of menu list price) with 6 VIP entries.  If your pickup squad is the size of a starting five plus bench guys, fear not: Light offers a 10-person table with 1 magnum of premium vodka + 1 magnum of Veuve Cliquot Champagne + 6 bottled waters + 4 Red Bulls for an amazing $1300. How’s that for a high-percentage shot close to the rim? Book your table at Light Nightclub on our app!

Intrigue @ Wynn

In general, Vegas clubs that play predominantly electronic music have more expensive pricing, and in general the five-star Wynn/Encore resort is one of the nicest – and most opulently expensive – resorts in Vegas.   On the Wynn/Encore property you will find world-class restaurants, shops, evening shows, and other entertainment options of the finest quality.  Included in these options are four elegantly decorated nightlife venues with stellar reputations that draw big DJ talent and the sexiest crowds and thus command elevated table prices.  The smallest of these venues – Intrigue – features some pretty excellent bottle deals on certain nights.  Owing to its small size, symmetrical layout, and intimately cozy feel and service, Intrigue is one of the few electronic venues in Vegas where a table with a solid vantage point of the performance stage can be nabbed for a 1-bottle minimum spend ($600-750 depending on alcohol brand ordered).  Where they really shine though is with a truly epic Magnum Special: 2 magnums of vodka, 6 Red Bulls, and VIP entry/table seating for up to 8 guests for a measly $1200.  It’s enough to make your heart pump adrenaline, with or without chugging those Red Bulls. Visit our webapp to book a table at Intrigue.

Marquee Dayclub @ the Cosmopolitan

Nearly a decade after its grand opening, Marquee Dayclub still remains one of the top-tier pool parties in Vegas, primarily on the strength of their willingness to be innovative.   They started out primarily as an electronic music venue, but over the past couple of years have introduced hip-hop days and artists to cater to the more eclectic music tastes of the hip twenty- and thirty-somethings that prefer to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel (and nearby properties Aria and Vdara).  They have created “Beatwave Sundays” to showcase up-and-coming electronic artists who aren’t as big as the brand-name DJs at other venues but have loyal, cult-like worldwide followings.  And they even went so far as to build a dome over their pool so that they could be the only dayclub in town hosting pool parties deep into October and November when the Vegas desert temperatures drop.  This forward thinking extends to a having a high degree of flexibility in table pricing: Marquee DC’s podium directors are often willing to offer custom solutions to groups to match their preferences and budgets.  For example, on Sundays they can drop the daybed minimum spends to below a one-bottle minimum (i.e. $250 when bottles there start at $500), and groups may order food, pitchers of margaritas, buckets of beers, or even a la carte drinks toward their tab   Also, for groups of all or mostly females (ie bachelorette parties) they are generally open to dropping minimum spends for tables by a bottle or two and/or throw in a comp round or two of shots for a special occasion (i.e. a bachelorette party or birthday). Book your bottle service at Marquee Dayclub on the app!

More amazing bottle service deals at clubs all over Vegas can be found on the Discotech app.  Also, don’t hesitate to ping us on our help line at 415-735-6716 to inquire about any weekly or surprise bottle specials that might be available for the dates you’re in town.  Happy deal hunting!!!
