Tao Beach Grand Reopening Set for Summer 2022

Tao Beach Dayclub at The Venetian will more than double its size and will be able to accommodate more than 3,000 visitors when it opens in the spring.

The newly renovated 5-acre rooftop pool also has a new DJ booth “giving visitors the opportunity to dance poolside to the sounds of some of today’s biggest main-stage acts,” according to the company’s release. It did not disclose how much it invested in the renovations.

The transformation of Tao Beach has been underway for two years, designed by New York-based architecture and design firm Rockwell Group.

Rockwell designed the dayclub with multi-sensory experiences and detailed design elements. The venue has orange and warm wood tones with a variety of art installations, including two 15-foot-tall sculptures by artist Daniel Popper. Popper created a pair of sculptural hands at the entry and a tree goddess that welcomes guests to the main bar.

Tao Beach will feature an artist calendar anchored by Swedish DJ Alesso, who is embarking on a multi-year residency, and DJ and producer Fisher, who is entering the second year of his residency with Tao Group Hospitality. The season will be filled with additional top artists and live performers, including Grammy-nominated producer and Black Book Records founder Chris Lake.

Best Alesso Songs of All Time – Top 5 Tracks

Alessandro Renato Rodolfo Lindblad – commonly known by his stage name Alesso, is a Swedish DJ and record producer.

Lindblad was born in Stockholm, and is of Swedish and Italian descent. He started playing piano at age 7, but became interested in Electronic Dance Music when he was 16. He first gained recognition with the release of his Alesso EP in 2010. In early 2011, Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia contacted Alesso and asked if he wanted to work together. Ingrosso introduced him to DJing and helped him with the production of tracks. Since that time, Ingrosso has acted as a mentor for Alesso, who referred to the elder Swede as a “big brother.”

One of the first songs Alesso produced with Sebastian Ingrosso was a 2011 track named “Calling” that reached number 2 on the Beatport charts. The song would later be renamed “Calling (Lose My Mind)” with an additional feature from Ryan Tedder. Alesso’s 2011 remix of “Pressure” by Nadia Ali premiered at the #1 spot on The Hype Machine and was one of the most played EDM songs of 2011.

By 2013, Alesso had played at music festivals like Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland. He released a remix of “If I Lose Myself” by OneRepublic that was nominated for Grammy and garnered almost a million listens on SoundCloud in a relatively short time. In a collaboration with Calvin Harris and Hurts, Alesso released “Under Control” which racked up 88 million views. In 2013, he achieved his highest ranking on the list of the top 100 DJs at number 13.

Alesso has maintained a residency with Wynn Nightlife in Las Vegas for over 9 years now, playing shows at Encore Beach Club, EBC At Night, and XS. Alesso played his first show at XS in 2011 at the tender age of 20.

Miami New Year’s Eve 2018 Party Guide

Christmas and Hanukkah have come and gone, and the post-holiday blues are accompanied by freezing temperatures and harsh winter weather.  Well, everywhere except South Florida.  Snowbirds, fly south and unite for some New Year’s Eve revelry.

Miami in winter NEVER disappoints, and for one last chance in 2017 you’ve got a tailor-made excuse to set aside all your past year’s disappointments and promise yourself that next year will be THE BEST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE, all while surrounding yourself with fun-loving strangers, pulsating music, and premium liquor as you dance all your cares away.  And there are few better cities in the world for doing this than in sunny Miami, one the world’s preeminent entertainment destinations, with hundreds of fabulous party options to suit any taste.

Discotech can most certainly assist with you finding year-end good fortune in a great party atmosphere.  Here our Top 3 picks for the best NYE nightclub parties/events around Magic City for you and your friends to close out 2017 and ring in 2018:

1) NYE 2018 w/ Nervo @ W South Beach

WET Pool at W South Beach is excited to announce world-renowned electronic music talent Nervo will be headlining an unforgettable start of a new year.  For the past several years Australian sisters Liv and Mim have been a regular mainstay in the World Top 100, and 2017 proved there’s no stopping their shine.   DJ Mag caught up with the busy duo to ask what they’ve been up to this year: “Touring like crazy. Think we’re nudging 200 shows this year. We had our NERVONation parties in Miami, Austria and Ibiza at Ushuaia, which have all been amazing. We have been busy working on new music and recently got a major sync with iPhone 8 for a track we did with Sofi Tukker called ‘Best Friend’.”  Partygoers will be elevated to an oasis of wonderment include premium open bar from 9:00 PM to midnight, champagne toast, and party favors; VIP table service packages inclusive of top-shelf spirits will range from $1,800 – $15,000.

Time: 9:00 PM – 4:30 AM

Venue: WET @ W Hotel (2201 Collins Ave, Miami, FL 33139)

2) NYE 2018 w/ G-Eazy + Halsey @ E11even

Is there anything that gives us more hope for 2018 than two young people in love?  Platinum recording artists and new paramours G-Eazy and Halsey took the 2017 radio charts by storm with their recent hit collaboration “Him & I,” but it’s the awwww-so-sweet music video for the song that everyone is talking about.  Miami snowbirds will join the two love birds as they perform live at E11even to ring in the new year; special guest DJ Irie will provide the dance beats.  Other perks include open bar from 9PM – 11PM, passed hors d’oeuvres, and champagne toast at midnight.

Time: 9:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: E11even (29 NE 11th St., Miami, FL 33132)

3) Alesso New Year’s Eve @ Story

On the heels of one the most ballyhooed performances at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival this past March, superstar DJ Alesso will have the honor of leading the fine folks of Story into the new year.  About his 2017, Alesso says: “The last year, I’ve been just in a very creative environment. I used to just think about what will work on a dance floor at a festival. Now, I try to put out a song that makes me really feel [something], that’s meant to come out through your headphones when you’re on your way to work, or off work in the car, [or] being with your friends. I’m just trying to make the most of each song wherever it goes, not trying to push it to a dance floor direction. If I want it to be a dance floor version down the road, I’ll just remix it.”   Expect the Swedish wunderkind to keep inspiring the world in 2018 and beyond, and expect one of Miami Beach’s most bumping nightclubs to party well beyond the stroke of midnight and into the first dawn of 2018.

Time: 9:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: Story (136 Collins Ave, Miami, FL 33139)

Light Las Vegas Announces 2015 DJ Residencies

Returning as the headlining resident DJ at Light in 2015 is Alesso. A club resident since its conception, Alesso is a rising star who in 2015 will be a major pinnacle in the dance music space. His track “Heroes (we could be)” with Tove Lo raced up the charts in late 2014 and was just a taste of what to expect as he will release his debut studio album on Def Jam this year. Also returning to LIGHT is DJ and music legend Carl Cox, whose pioneering ways have not only paved the way for dance music to be where it is today, but also endeared him to generations of electronic music fans worldwide. In addition, there is Axwell along with Ingrosso, both who together are releasing an album on Def Jam in 2015; Baauer, who will continue to bring his massively popular Studio B monthly residency; And GTA who have been blowing up the festival circuit with their Miami bass productions.

New at Light, as the club ventures into its third year as one of the most sought after destinations on the Vegas strip, is U.K. talent Disclosure. Known more as a live act, at Light their appearances will be a rare DJ set. Having previously taken place in New York City, San Francisco and Chicago, LIGHT will serve as the Las Vegas home for Disclosure’s Wild Life specially-curated shows.  Called a “joyous and masterful” show by Consequence of Sound, it’s an event with friends and artists they like. Also onboard is EDM pioneer Fat Boy Slim, hip-hop megastar adventurers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and will.i.am, known for his incredible tracks with the Black Eyed Peas and accomplished producer in his own right. There is also DJ Mustard who is making major moves in hip-hop production circles having already created major hits for the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, Kid Ink and 2 Chainz just to name a few.

True to its mission of being a laboratory for inspired experiences, Light has been experimenting since it’s opening with new artistic content on a monthly basis. In 2015, Light is bringing a fresh look to the club with its new Artistic Director Maximiliano Torandell. The Argentinean producer and performer will soon unveil new moments and performances for a sexy and avant-garde Light 2015 show. What makes a Cirque performance at LIGHT different than any of the other Vegas shows?  “Light is a nightclub, not a stage show and therefore the requirements for the performances are different,” says Torandell.  “We want the performers be capable of seducing and captivating our audience without separating them from the club experience. We don’t want people sitting down and watching a show, we want a flawless integration of the performance and the party.” Watch for more on Light’s new artistic direction.
