Rock Bar Bali at Ayana Resort & Spa

The Rock Bar at the Ayana Resort & Spa has become an icon of Bali’s new wave of luxurious resorts that incorporate modern architecture with the natural beauty of the island. The bar teeters over the edge of the precipitous cliffs facing out into Jimbaran Bay, which is one of the best places in Bali to watch the sun sink into the Indian Ocean. The Rock Bar is by no means cheap, but it is worth going once for the experience and to make your friends back home really jealous.

Smart dress is required at the Rock Bar, so don’t turn up in board shorts or you’ll be turned away from the inclinator which carries guests down the cliffs to the bar. The line for the inclinator can get busy before sunset, so arrive early to get to the bar in time.

Vertigo Rooftop at Four Points Sheraton

Vertigo Rooftop is the signature leisure dining and chill-out spot at the rooftop of the Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Kuta. It’s a great spot for families to head up to in the day (even as public guests) where you can cool off with a dip in the freeform rooftop pool.

By late afternoon and after sundown, Vertigo Rooftop takes on a livelier atmosphere. Grow Up Rooftop Bar at L Hotel Seminyak

On top of the fantastic L Hotel Seminyak you used to find GROW UP Rooftop Bar, run by Chef Ryan Clift. But that changed during 2019, and the hotel now run the rooftop as L Rooftop Kitchen & Bar.

Located right in the heart of Seminyak, the views is just as fantastic as ever. Panoramics over Seminyak, and the terrace is facing west, resulting in gorgeous sunsets.

Open daily from early morning, the L Hotel rooftop is a great venue for either breakfast, lunch, dinner or some cocktails in between. Breakfast and brunch is even served any time of the day.

The rooftop bar offers hearty and authentic farm-to-table dining, mixing local and international dishes with well made cocktails, fine wines and ice cold beers.

Seating comes both inside and on the open-air terrace, where you can grab some front row spots to the view, and enjoy the very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Usually highlighted by ‘Acoustic Sessions’ several nights a week.

Moonlite Kitchen and Bar is the rooftop venue at Anantara Seminyak Resort, which is a great spot to head to for a snack and sundowner in Seminyak. The lounging area at the glass-bordered edge overlooks the Seminyak surf and sunsets, and you can take in the views with its selection of refreshing signature cocktails.

The sunset mojito sessions at Moonlite feature live DJs who play between 4.30pm and 7pm. You can also plan ahead for an after-sunset dinner with half-price discounts between 9pm and 11pm with advance day bookings.
